As of December of 2004, an estimated 32,746 people are living with HIV/AIDS in the state of NJ. [1]

One in every 3 persons living with HIV in New Jersey is female. 1

An average of 75% of African American women living with AIDS are infected through heterosexual exposure.2

American men and 1 in every 160 African American women are infected with HIV. 3
